NEW VAM® was designed in 1985, in parallel to VAM® ACE. NEW VAM® is an improvement on the original VAM® joint which pioneered the concept of high performance premium connections.

During decades of successful field experience, NEW VAM® proved to be a highly versatile T&C connection providing gas-tight sealing, in both tubing and casing applications.

However, since 1985, drilling techniques have advanced tremendously. Consequently, technical requirements have followed the same trend: technical specifications, including the latest version of ISO 13679, have been updated.
