Specializing in the most complex and highly-demanding industrial applications (extreme temperatures,
pressure and corrosion), notably in the energy sector, Vallourec offers a portfolio of diversified,
unique and high value-added tubular products. Today, the Group is a supplier of reference throughout
the world and has a global industrial and sales presence. In 2006, VALLOUREC benefited from buoyant
energy markets, posting a sharp increase in its results. The Group strengthened its portfolio of activities
by making several disposals and acquisitions and by boosting its capital expenditure programme.

VALLOUREC & MANNESMANN TUBES is a VALLOUREC Group company. It was formed in 1997 as
a joint venture between the French VALLOUREC group (55% of shares) and the German Mannesmannröhren-
Werke (45% of shares) merging all their production units and marketing interests for seamless hot-rolled
tubes and threaded oilfield tubulars.
The Oil and Gas Division is recognized worldwide as specialist of extreme drilling conditions.The high-tech
products designed and developed by the Oil and Gas Division meet the reliability requirements of even
themost demanding customers, and are suited to the harsch operating conditions of the oil industry and
gas wells from the oil well to refinery. They include drilling products, plain-end or threaded seamless
tubes for casing or oil and gas production tubing, standard or premium joints (with the VAM® product
line) for a variety of applications. Product grades are engineered to withstand specific, sometimes
extreme operating conditions (corrosion, temperature, pressure).

By merging OMSCO, SMF-International and V & M TUBES drilling product line operations, the VALLOUREC
group has established a new entity in the drilling equipment industry called VAM Drilling. VAM Drilling
is committed to support its customer thru a wide range of drill string solutions, fully integrated production
and a unique service network.
In 2000, V & M TUBES took over the Brazilian company Mannesmann SA in Belo Horizonte,
which was renamed V & M do BRASIL SA.
In 2002, V & M TUBES acquired the tubular division of North Star Steel Co., including
production and finishing sites in Youngstown (Ohio) and Houston (Texas), which was renamed V &
M STAR.
In 2005, VALLOUREC acquired the 45% stake held by Mannesmannröhren- Werke in
V & M TUBES, which is now 100%-owned by VALLOUREC.
Moreover, V & M Tubes acquired the assets of OMSCO, a division of ShawCor Ltd (Canada),
which is based inHouston (USA) and specialized in the manufacture of drilling products.
In 2006, V & M TUBES acquired SMF-International (Société Matériel
de Forage International), a French based company specialized in the manufacture of drilling bottom hole
assemblies, accessories and performance drilling systems.
In 2007, VALLOUREC and Sumitomo Metals jointly build a new state-of-the-art integrated
pipe mill in Brazil and also build a new threading plant for OCTG products
in Changzhou (China).
