V & M 95 Sour Service grades - 95 ksi series
Introducing proprietary grades: VM 95 SS - VM 95 SS-D - VM 95 S - VM 95 HCSS - VM95
HCS
In sour environments, the presence of H2S can trigger sulfide stress-cracking (
SSC ) at stresses below the resistance of OCTG products in non-corrosive environments.
While T95 was introduced as sour service grade into API in 1989, V&M has long
produced 95 ksi proprietary grades for sour service, compliant with the NACE
MR0175/IS015156 norm and guaranteeing SSC resistance.
As an integrated supplier, V&M now offers a range of sour service products
up to 125 ksi, based on optimized combinations of steelmaking, rolling
and heat treatment, controlled to the most stringent quality program, with final
SSC resistance proven through NACE TMOl77 testing, and supported by an extensive
history of more than 10 000 tests.
MAIN BENEFITS compared to T95
Additional resistance to SSC
Availability in high collapse sour service grades (VM 9S HCS and
VM 9S HCSS)
Main Features
VM 9S SS
- Maximum SSC resistance proven through 90% SMYS NACE A test
- Reference product
with full API5CT compliance
VM 9S S
- Reduced lead time without time-consuming NACE test based on controlled process and
historical testing record
- Additional SSC resistance vs T95 warranted to 85 %
SMYS
VM 9S SS-D
- State of the art API 5CT compliant product tested to both NACE A ( 90% SMYS ) and
NACE-D
- NACE D warrantee: Kiscc > 33 ksi.in 1/2 average value superior to T95
(30 ksi.in 1/2)
Technical Features

Field history
V&M 95 ksi sour service grades have been largely used in combination with VAM
TOP and other V&M proprietary connections:
- 85% of V&M 95 ksi 55 supply are proprietary grades
- Close to 50% are
supplied in combination with high collapse
- Widely used for critically sour wells
in Middle East, Caspian area and China as well as North Sea HPHT wells
- Some
